PLANNED GIVING PUBLICATIONS
The UW-L Foundation provides information about giving opportunities to benefit the University through publications, direct mailings, personal contacts, speaking engagements and seminars. The following publications have been specifically created for those interested in the many charitable opportunities provided by Foundation's Planned and Major Gifts Program:
Planning Companion - a quarterly newsletter highlighting gifts for UW-L and offering articles and ideas on estate, tax, financial and charitable gift planning.
Planned & Major Gifts - a menu with brief descriptions of the numerous effective ways to give to UW-L, including cash, securities, wills, trusts, life insurance, life income gifts and many more.
Legacy Guild - information about this informal organization created to recognize those who have made planned gifts to the UW-L Foundation through a will, trust, gift annuity, life insurance or other planned giving vehicle.
Named Funds & Memorials - how to create a scholarship, other named fund or memorial to honor and remember a person, business or organization as well as benefit students and the University.
Foundation - an overview of the UW-L Foundation, its history, mission, relationship with the University, governance, financial and gift management, giving opportunities and other functions.
Laurels - the annual report of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Foundation Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) Wisconsin corporation. It includes a balance sheet of assets and liabilities, an operating statement of income and expenses, and all donor recognition lists. The name Laurels refers to the wreath or crown of leaves presented in ancient Greece and Rome to recognize honor and glory for heroism and victory.
The Foundation maintains an inventory of individual brochures on specific planned giving vehicles, such as wills, life insurance, retirement benefits, gift annuities or charitable remainder and lead trusts. In addition, the Planned Giving Office produces special brochures dealing with these gifts: Real Estate, Appreciated Securities and Donor-Advised Funds . The office also researches and prepares current updates on charitable planning issues and is prepared to deliver detailed analysis of individual planned giving examples and scenarios generated by state of the art computer software.
